Chef David Burke is honored to once again be a judge in the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Top Cookie Competition! As part of the event, Chef David Burke and his Dixie Lee Bakery pastry chefs will create a one-of-a-kind dessert made with Raspberry Rally, Girl Scouts newest Cookie.
Fourth Annual Top Cookie Judges and Competitors
The Fourth Annual Top Cookie Competition will be held on March 8, 2023 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm at Asbury Lanes, Asbury Park, NJ. That evening, local Monmouth and Ocean County chefs will compete for the TopCookie Champion 2023 title and People's Choice Award Winner.
The competitors are challenged to create a special dessert made with iconic Girl Scout cookies. Chef David Burke and his fellow judges Carla Bushey, owner of Oak Hill Farms and Lori Draz, food writer for The Journal NJ will taste the desserts before crowning the 2023 winners.
The event helps raise funds for leadership programming provided by Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore to our more than 11,500 members in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Visit the Dixie Lee Bakery
The Girl Scouts visited the Dixie Lee Bakery in February for a tour and to interview Chef Burke and his team. They filmed Chef David Burke in an exclusive interview where they asked him to describe his career and share motivational words for the Girl Scouts, leaders, and families.
Pastry Chef Stu then led the Girl Scouts camera crew on a tour of the bakery. The video production will be presented at the competition at Asbury Lanes on March 8th as well as via Girl Scouts communications.
They also delivered several boxes of Raspberry Rally Cookies for the bakery team to begin developing a special recipe for the Asbury Lanes Event.
