Dixie Lee Cake Honors Local Hollywood Movie Film Team at Red Horse by David Burke

Rumson, New Jersey – Red horses were running wild at Red Horse by David Burke on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 4 – 7 p.m. Two gorgeous, antique red mustangs - and 10 other specialty antique cars some used in Hollywood movie Miranda’s Victim filmed in the Two River community – were on display at Red Horse by David Burke. The event was free and the public was welcome to view the cars and speak to the owners, many of whom doubled as extras in the film set in the mid 1960s. Members of the Antique Motoring Club of Monmouth County (AMCOMC) aided the movie's production team in maintaining the historical accuracy of the film.

Also, that evening were appearances by internationally awarded, celebrity Chef David Burke and George Kolber, a resident of Monmouth County who is the co-writer and co-producer of the movie Miranda’s Victim. The biographical crime drama, filmed in 2022 and released this year, tells the story of the gripping case that resulted in the 1966 Supreme Court decision establishing what is commonly referred to as the Miranda Rights.

A celebratory cake from David Burke's Dixie Lee Bakery was presented by Chef Burke recognizing Kolber and his movie's Hollywood debut. Those attending were treated to a slice of cake while supplies last.

“Having a car in the move was huge,” said Jack Torres, president of AMCOMC. “But having a roll as an extra made the experience so much more fulfilling. I went to see the completed movie production in Tampa, Florida and it was so thrilling to see my car on the big screen. The excitement exploded in the theater when my friends, club members and I saw me on the big screen. An experience of a lifetime for our club members seeing so many member’s cars on the big screen.”

Among his many philanthropic endeavors, Kolber - owner of Navesink River Productions that produced Miranda’s Victim, is currently serving as Board of Trustee at Monmouth University and is actively engaged in promoting Holocaust and Genocide awareness. Kolber also co-authored with his brother, Charles, Thrown Upon The World, (Archway Publishing, June 2018) a story about their families’ escape to Shanghai during WWII; the trauma of postwar survival in refugee camps; and the challenges of getting to the United States.

The Antique Motoring Club of Monmouth County (AMCOMC) is a membership sport club that meets monthly at the Little Silver Women’s Club. Members share their interest in the enjoyment, preservation, and restoration of antique/collectible cars. The club is one of New Jersey's most spirited and active car clubs hosting various events throughout the year. For more information visit https://www.amcomc.org/
